  • New Business Ideas? -- Last Post: Tuesday, July 01, 2008

My husband and I would like to move our young family to Hood River, because we are simply in love with the area. We currently live in Seattle and have professional occupations that aren't available in Hood River area. I am considering starting a new business. Does anyone have any ideas on what Hood River needs? I mean it already seems to have everything :) And the residents don't seem to be high maintenance (which is also another reason to love it there).
My current occupation (besides wife, mother, and DOG moth... Read More

  • Thank you, Parents! -- Last Post: Friday, June 27, 2008

Thanks to all the Hood River parents (and some White Salmon parents, too) who have been calling and booking sessions for my new Children's Theme Portraits special for July - a big surprise to me is that the little boys' set, Cowboy Bath House, is filling up so much faster than the little girls' set, Teddybear Bath Time!

I want to add that there are still appointments available for both themes, but I expect to fully book up before July 4th - so if you've been on the fence about bringing your children in for t... Read More

Our holistic Waldorf~inspired preschool program offers a gentle transition from the home to school environment for children of the Columbia Gorge.  Our early childhood classes, serving children 2 to 4 years, provide a sanctuary where the young child’s imagination and creativity can flourish, a lifelong love of learning is cultivated, and the time of early childhood is trusted, honored and celebrated.   Life at Kinderhaus is rooted in a true reverence for life in the natural world and is experienced through toy... • Special school needs -- Last Post: Friday, May 30, 2008

    Hi,
We are considering moving to the Hood River Area. We have two girls (8,13) that are currently home schooled through a public charter. They go to school 2/days a week and have a great home school class of 24 kids K-6. The rest of the days is at home. Our son (14, developmental age 1-2) is profoundly disabled and the happiest child I know. He is medically fragile and enjoys a combination of home visit teacher, special ed class room and mainstreaming into friendly charter school settings.
I would be happy t... Read More

  • Paddler Magazine photo shoot -- Last Post: Wednesday, May 14, 2008

    Hello.
I am the editor of Paddler Magazine in Kirkland, Washington. We have selected Hood River, of course, as one of the best towns in America. We have scheduled a photo shoot in downtown HR for Friday, May 16 at Oak and 3rd Street, and are inviting local residents to be in the photo. We’d like to get a good mix of people, including families. We intend to use this shot on the cover of our July/August issue. Hood River is such a great place to raise a family and kayak, so if any families would like to be on the ... Read More

  • Charities/Org. to donate clothes to?? -- Last Post: Monday, April 28, 2008

    Hi!

I have some little girls clothes (sizes 2t-4t) and some other baby items I would like to give away.    Many of the goodwill and salvation locations up here in Seattle stop taking donations when they get full (imagine that) so I thought I would pack up some stuff and bring it down to Hood River / White Salmon.  Does anyone know any place I can drop off these items?  I would love to help out a needy family or an organization in need.

    Thanks!
