Changing Tomorrow by Helping Today
The Mid-Columbia Child & Family Center (MCCFC) has been providing education, treatment and assistance to children with emotional problems and their families for almost 30 years. We also provide outpatient counseling to help facilitate the emotional growth and social well-being of individuals, couples and families of all ages.
We're a private, nonprofit corporation in The Dalles, Oregon, overseen by a Board of Directors who reside in our primary service area of Wasco, Sherman and Hood River counties.
At Mid-Columbia Child & Family Center we believe:
- Treatment should be community based, with the focus of services, case management and decision making responsibilities resting at the community level.
- Individuals should have access to a comprehensive array of coordinated services linked between agencies and programs that address physical, emotional, social and educational needs.
- Services should be client-centered, based on the unique needs and potential of each person and guided by an individualized service plan.
- Services should be provided within the least restrictive, most normative environment that is clinically appropriate.
- Families and significant others should be participants in the planning and delivery of service.
- Early identification and intervention should be promoted by the system of care in order to enhance the likelihood of positive outcomes.
- The rights of individuals should be protected, and effective advocacy efforts for clients should be promoted.
- Services should be provided without regard to race, religion, nationality, sex, physical disability or other characteristics, and should be sensitive and responsive to cultural differences and special needs.
