  • Carrie Anne Wilcox

    Carrie is a trained Orton-Gillingham tutor for dyslexic students who struggle with learning to read, write and spell. Carrie was trained three years ago at the Blosser Center for Dyslexia Resources in Portland, and currently resides in Corbett and is available to tutor at Cascade Locks or the Hood River Library.

    Rates are $30 hour and it is recommended that sessions are twice a week. In addition to this training Carrie is a certified K-6 teacher, and has tremendous success helping students gain confidence in reading, writing and spelling.
  • Julie Belmore

    Julie Belmore is a reading tutor using a program called Phono-Graphix. In most cases she is able to get a child to their grade level in reading in 12 hours of tutoring or less.

    Julie has four years of experience with this program and has tutored over 70 students. Julie usually tutors in her home, but other arrangements are possible. She has worked with children as young as four all the way up to adults. Julie usually only needs to see students once a week for 45 to 60 minutes.

    The initial assessment and consultation is free and she encourages parents to sit in on the tutoring as much as possible. The fee is $30/ hour.
