Classes are offered throughout the year at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital. Call (541) 387-6340 to sign up for a class that begins before you are 30 weeks pregnant! Each class series for first time mothers/partners is 5 nights (Wednesdays). Cost for the five-class series is $38 for those who plan to deliver at PHRMH and $60 for those who plan to deliver elsewhere. Breastfeeding and Childbirth Refresher Courses are also available.
Classes are held from 6:30-9 PM in the PHRMH Education Center, Conference Room 1. Parking for these classes is available in the upper lot, 12th Street side of the hospital.

Incredible Infants class starts Thursday, April 17. The class runs from 5-7 pm at Gateway Presbyterian Church. Dinner is provided and childcare is available (please call 541-506-2676 for more information). This is a GREAT evidenced-based curriculum that covers infant brain development, ways to have fun with your baby, and keeping your baby safe. It is a place to get helpful, practical answers to day-to-day questions. More Info.
This is a short interactive series for parents of children ages 0 to 6 that helps parents build positive, enjoyable and healthy relationships with their children. This class focuses on helping parents create a solid, lifelong foundation as a family and establish a personal community support network.

The Klickitat County Website contains updated information on Parenting Classes.
Thanks to a grant received from the Skamania Klickitat Community Network and
the Hood River County Commission on Children and Families, the Love and
Logic curriculum has now been purchased and will be offered beginning May
20th in Stevenson. This series is designed for parents with children ages
toddler to teen.
This parenting and family skills program will last for six weeks, and will
be held Tuesday evenings from 6:00 until 8:30 pm.
A free meal and childcare will be available.
The class is free, but there is an $8.00 charge for the workbook, with
waivers available for low income parents. Trina Anderson and Johanna Roe
will be leading the classes.
The class location is at Wee Care Childcare Center in Stevenson, on the corner of NW Jefferson and School Street, near Stevenson Elementary School.Call 1-866-631-1997 to sign up. Plans are underway to offer Make Parenting A Pleasure this fall in Stevenson. Stay tuned for more details.
The Love and Logic curriculum, as well as many others are available through the Skamania Klickitat Community Network's lending library and resource center. If you are interested in leading this program or others, please call Johanna Roe at 1-866-631-1997. Many of these programs do not require additional training-good facilitation skills and time are the neccessary requirements.

A Doula (from the Greek, meaning "in service of women") provides physical
and emotional support for the laboring mother and her partner. When the partner
and the doula work together they can ensure the woman’s emotional and physical
needs are more fully met. Having a doula can enable your partner to be
your birth companion, observe labor, and witness the birth. Statistics

24 hour on-call assistance that will guide the woman in her journey into
motherhood.

you need to nurture yourself as well as your family. Adjusting to the
new role is sometimes challenging. Birth & Beyond will provide
you with a postpartum visit to ease the transition. We will assist you
in whatever your needs are...breastfeeding support, newborn care, freshening
up the home, a foot massage or cooking a welcome hot meal.
