In addition, the live music, local hot food vendors and festive family-friendly atmosphere that have become beloved market traditions continue. The market, operated by local non-profit Gorge Grown Food Network (GGFN), is encouraging shoppers to bring their grocery lists as inspiration to load up on fresh food. GGFN had a flurry of market vendor applications this year, so new and previous vendors alike can be expected.

  • Music from Movies and Musicals
    May 31, 2013 -- "Music from Movies and Musicals" is the title of the Cascade Singers' 2013 spring concert. Performances are Friday, May 31 and Saturday June 1 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Landmark, W. 3rd and Lincoln Streets, The Dalles.

    Choral selections from "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Godspell" are featured, with many other Hollywood and Broadway favorites by the choir, ensemble, and children's choir. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and children 12 and under free. Contact Director Lloyd Walworth for program sponsorship or further information at 541-340-9858.

  • Kids History Through Yoga at The History Museum
    June 1, 2013 -- Kids can connect with history in a fun new way through The History Museum's special new children's program - History through Yoga! During the class, the students will learn different yoga postures that help tell the story of Hood River County history, all while surrounded by wonderful historical artifacts and photos.

    Classes will take place in the museum's new atrium gallery and will be taught by Angela Logan of Root Down Yoga. Classes will be held the first Saturday of May, June and July. Program is designed for children ages 6 to 10. Participants will need to bring their own mat. Admission is free for current museum members and $5 for non-members. Class admission fee includes one child admission to the program and the museum, and one adult admission to the museum.
