• Pioneer Camp 2010
  September 11, 2010 -- The Barlow Ranger District and the Mt Hood National Forest are sponsoring a living history display and pioneer wagon camp at White River Station Campground in the beautiful Cascade Mountains on September 11-18, 2010.

  We invite you to join us as we present a week of interpretive programs about pioneer life in the 1840's. This event is geared towards kids between 3rd and 5th grades, but anyone is welcome. You can see a pioneer wagon, see traditional toys, learn make butter, rope and carded wool.

  Interpreters wear pioneer clothing and cook their meals over the fire in Dutch-ovens. The entire display is outside and accessible and is open from 9 AM to 4 PM, and there is no admission charge. If you want to help out, Pioneer Camp is also looking for volunteers. For more information about the camp or to volunteer as an interpreter, contact Hillary at 541-467-5137.
